Our Story

From zero to millions

When a college dropped-out managed to turn a bedroom sanctuary to a multi-million dollar company, it is only natural for him to think that everything was going to be easy. As it turned out, this was only the beginning to a humbling (and painful) journey.

Zafrul Noordin paved his way into startup ecosystem after being involved with several nation building digital initiatives, including few works with ministries innovation departments, succeeding his agency years bloom.

But in 2010, as he stepped-on to the turf, he began to fail in all of his early startup attempts. Despite having many big ideas and backed with vast experience, he was unable to turn these ideas into product that can adapt to changing, growing needs and demanding market.

Having learned the hard way, he spent the next 3 years travelling across global startup ecosystem in quest for the key to his failures. This led him to pick-up a management framework that has groomed many ideas into billion dollars valuation and improved the course of many large corporations.

Experiencing the change in business outcomes by implementing this methodology, Zafrul went on to founding Code Ar.my with Riz Ainuddin and become Exclusive ASEAN Lean Startup Regional Partner while both of them were in the UK.

Code Ar.my was built on a successfully raised funds from Malaysian angel investors and government agencies as an online accelerator that helps non-technical entrepreneurs build their products and launch their startups with experienced CTO’s.

Code Ar.my then launched Lean Armada to work with Khazanah Nasional Berhad to spread innovation through several batches of accelerator program namely Project Brainchild. The brand also established a partnership with General Electric (GE) in the implementation of Lean Startup across corporates group and ecosystem.

Lean Armada is designed by Code Ar.my to empower people to turn ideas into innovative solutions by using Lean Startup methodology and assisting corporates to embrace the innovation formula to move faster, create better products and diversify business strategy.

The team have grown to what it makes of today – a prominent Lean Startup expert implementer in Malaysia and the South East Asia.
